We are always looking for new photographers to submit their work to our firm. Photographers need to understand the quality of images we require for our clients. We own two regional parenting magazines, Arizona Parenting Magazine & Houston Family Magazine and have found that the stock photography available of children is very limited and not usable for advertising. We are not looking for your basic portrait images but compelling images that can be used in advertisements and marketing materials. These images MUST have action, eye catching color and be of the best quality. And all images MUST be accompanied with legal model release forms (download JustKids Model Release Form).

We offer our images in a variety of options from subscription royalty-free, royalty-free and right managed. We offer a 40% commission on all of your images that sell, which will be paid quarterly. (January, April, July & October) As part of this agreement you will not be paid on any image that appears in the subscription royalty-free but this is limited to only the medium size format. If you would like to be considered please register below and send a sample of 20 of your best images. You must also fill out the photographer agreement and fax it to us before you can be considered.

Upon receipt of your sample images we will review your work and notify you within 7-10 business days if we would like to have you join our team. Upon approval you will be able to upload as many pictures to the website as you wish. These images will then be reviewed and approved or declined. We will also determine if the image will be royalty free or rights managed images.

Digital Submission Guidelines

All images must be submitted according to the following guidelines:

1. The website will be utilizing JPG file format and we would like to receive all images in this format.
2. Embedded with Adobe RGB 1998 color profile (sRGB will not be accepted)
3. Contain 8 bits/channel (converting from 16 bit after color correcting is acceptable and recommended)
4. Images should be at a resolution of 300 dpi with a minimum files size of 24 MB.
5. Images should contain no layers or alpha channels.
6. Images should not be interpolated (upsized) using Photoshop's bicubic smoother, Genuine Fractals or any similar programs. We are aware that digital images lend themselves well to being interpolated and we will make such changes on an as needed basis. We use a specific formula for this process to obtain maximum results and any interpolating done by the photographer prior to this may make it impossible for us to achieve the desired results. This could ultimately affect the sale of your image.

1. Images should be free from scratches, cloning marks, pixelation, and any other computer-enhanced errors. We suggest viewing images at 100% magnification to avoid such problems.
2. Images should not be sharpened.. Images are sent to clients in their unsharpened format to allow them to sharpen as needed for optimum printing conditions. Defogging of images is fine, this does not actually sharpen the image.
3. Digital images obtained from scanning 35mm slides should be cropped cleaned so no black or jagged edges are visible.

The caption and key words for each image need to be included in the image file using Adobe Photoshop's file info/xmp. (help note)

There are a variety of high quality digital cameras on the market today. We require a camera that is at minimum, 6 to 8 megapixels such as (but not limited too): Nikon 2DX, Nikon D200, Canon EOS 1D II, or Canon Mark II.
